Deputy Director – Radiation Processing

Ms. Ganga Madurakanthi is working as the Deputy Director of Radiation Processing Section of Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board in which mainly focusing on R & D activities in different disciplinaries, such as agriculture, health, environment and industry using radiation processing technology for the socio-economic development of the country.

Ms. Ganga Madurakanthi has obtained the B.Sc. degree specialized in Chemistry with a second-class upper division from University of Kelaniya in 2009 and completed her master’s degree in Analytical chemistry in University of Colombo in 2017.

She has joined the Atomic Energy Authority in 2012 March as a Scientific Officer and engaged in the quality control activities of gamma irradiation services in Sri Lanka Gamma Centre, which is a radiation processing facility operates under the purview of Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Borad. Moreover, she has involved in the customer communication activities as well as has guided the university students as an external supervisor to complete their undergraduate research projects. Also, she worked as a Senior Scientific Officer from March 2022 until her promotion as the Deputy Director.
