Who We Are
The Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLAEB) is a Statutory Body functioning under the State Ministry of Solar Power, Wind & Hydro Power Generation Projects Development which was established by the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Act No.40 of 2014. Nuclear Science and Technology has a wide range of applications in many fields that can make a significant contribution to the development of medical, agricultural, industrial, energy and environmental sectors in Sri Lanka. The SLAEB has the responsibility of facilitating the utilization of this technology in the above-mentioned sectors in Sri Lanka.
To be a center of excellence, with emphasis on national relevance and international recognition, for activities related to peaceful applications of Nuclear Science and Technology with due consideration to safety.
Promote, encourage peaceful applications of nuclear technology and utilize its benefits for socio-economic development of the country while ensuring safety, security and quality.
And,
Provide radiation protection services to facilitate protection of workers, public and environment from exposure to unwarranted ionizing radiation.
