Although LSD has the capability and capacity to analysis Cs-137 it was necessary to establish analytical procedure for Sr-90 in milk as there was no laboratory in Sri Lanka for obtaining this service. It has now been able to establish Sr -90 analysis in milk food. Analysis by Beta spectroscopy with the technical support received nuclear the IAEA national project IAEA/SRL / 0011 titled Upgrading Nuclear Analytical Capabilities of the SLAEB.
