Asia Development Bank Delegations visit to SLAEB
Dr. Priyantha Wijayatunga, Senior Director – Energy, Sector Group and Dr. Kee- Yung Nam, Principal Energy Economist, Energy Sector Office, Sectors Department 1 from Asia Development Bank (ADB) visited Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLAEB) on Tuesday, 07th April 2026. Prof. Thushara Rathnayake, Chairperson, SLAEB, Ms. Champa Dissanayake, Director General (Acting), SLAEB and several officials are attended the meeting.
ADB officials informed that they would be able to support and strengthen the ongoing nuclear power study and planning programme in terms of capacity building development and investment basis as well.
After waiving the ban for nuclear power-based investment by the World Bank, ADB also followed the same and committed to accelerate the nuclear power study and planning programme of embarking countries from Asia – Pacific region including Sri Lanka.
