Opening of the National Centre for Non Destructive Testing (NCNDT)

altThe National Centre for Non Destructive Testing (NCNDT) was declared open by the Minister of Economic Development Honouralble Basil Rajapakse on the invitation of the Minister of Technology and Research Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka on 14th October 2014.
This centre will cater for the development in all most all the industries in the country (petrochemical, boiler and pressure vessels, construction etc.) which are using machinery and steel fabrications. The critical areas of these machinery and steel fabrications such as engine components, pressure vessels, boilers, pipe lines, tubes etc. have to be tested periodically for their safety and quality. In addition there are several large and medium scale projects using steel fabrications such as high roof buildings, oil tanks, boilers, planes, ships, etc. These also have to be checked for quality.
