Mr. Anuruddha Jayalath
Mr. Anuruddha Jayalath has been functioning as the Director of General Scientific Services Division of Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLAEB). Mr. Jayalath has joined the former Atomic Energy Authority (AEA) as a Technical Officer of the Division of Radiation Protection in 1981 and subsequently promoted to the positions of Scientific Officer, Senior Scientific Officer and Deputy Director respectively of the same division.
Mr. Jayalath has been engaged in different activities of radiation protection such as inspection and licensing of radiation facilities, personnel monitoring services, implementation of various types of Radiation Protection Programmes at SLAEB.
In 2009, he has appointed as the National Coordinator of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Technical Cooperation Project for the Development of National Capability to Respond Radiological Emergencies in Sri Lanka and led the project for major developments for successfully response to radiological and nuclear emergency the country.
Mr. Jayalath was graduated in University of Peradeniya. While working in the AEA he obtained a Master Degree in the field of Nuclear Science from the University of Colombo. After his appointment he followed IAEA fellowship training programmes in the field of Radiation Protection in Vienna, Japan, Malaysia and Australia. He has also participated in several training programmes in the field of Nuclear Science and Technology both in Sri Lanka and overseas and attended as the national representative of many international meetings related to radiation protection and Nuclear Technology.
Mr. Jayalath possesses an unblemished career record of 34 years in SLAEB and its predecessor AEA.
