International Nuclear Science Olympiad 2024

The 1st Sri Lankan Nuclear Science Olympiad Competition is organized by the Institute of Physics, Sri Lanka. The SLNSO competition is open for Secondary School (G.C.E A/L) students who are 20 years or younger on 01st of August 2024. The competition will be conducted in Sinhala/English/Tamil medium on a date decided by IPSL in February, 2024.
Based on performance at SLNSO, Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals and Certificates of Merit will be presented to the winners at the national level in the ceremony annual acridity organized by IPSL. The best-selected contestants may represent the International Nuclear Science Olympiad held in August 2024 with guidance from IPSL. The newly established International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO) is an annual international science competition for secondary school students younger than 20 years old. It will be hosted in Phillippine and launched in August 2024 under the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) technical cooperation project RAS0091 “Supporting Nuclear Science and Technology Education at the Secondary and Tertiary Level”.
Students who wish to participate in the above National Olympiad Competition can obtain the online application and test question papers from the website www.ipsl.lk. The closing date for applications is 20.01.2024.
